The festive season shines brighter this year as Michael Cassel Group presents the return of A (VERY) MUSICAL CHRISTMAS — filmed before a live audience on the stage of MJ The Musical in Melbourne and broadcast nationally on ABC this December.
This intimate and elegant production brings together Australia’s brightest musical theatre stars, reimagining Christmas classics and beloved carols like audiences have never heard before — with all proceeds proudly supporting Beyond Blue for the second year running.
A Festival of Music and Mental Health
More than a concert, the event highlights the importance of mental health and wellbeing during the festive season. By pairing joy-filled performance with Beyond Blue’s message of connection and support, the production delivers both entertainment and comfort to audiences across Australia.

Fabian Aloise Returns Home to Direct
At the creative helm is Fabian Aloise, Melbourne-born choreographer and director whose international credits include Evita (starring Rachel Zegler) and Sunset Boulevard (starring Nicole Scherzinger). Aloise’s choreography has earned Olivier, WhatsOnStage, and Tony Award recognition, and now he returns home to infuse the production with world-class artistry and a touch of Christmas magic.
