The Australian Dance Festival Wrap Up

Another successful and celebratory Australian Dance Festival has been held over 3 days in September with hundreds of dance teachers and students taking part in workshops and teacher forums at Sydney Olympic Park, networking at the Dancers Expo and witnessing some spectacular performances from soloists, crews and special guests.
And planning has already begun for 2017! Next year’s Australian Dance Festival will be held at the same venue from 15-17th September. For bookings, accommodation deals and competition information please visit www.australiandancefestival.com.au.
A key part of the Festival is the Dance Around the World-sponsored Solo Competition and the Best Dance Crew Competition. This year’s winners are:
Australia’s Best Dance Crew Winners were:
LA Talent “Most Technically Excellent” – $2,500 prize
Brent Street “Most Entertaining” – $2,500 prize
Dance Force “Best Choreography” – $2,500
Jenina’s Dance Workshop – $500 prize
Dance Around The World Solo Winners were:
Aaron Matheson – Return flights to L.A, 7 nights accommodation + 20 classes at The Edge
Georgia Carr won the Rising Star Award (under 14 years of age) – a $500 travel voucher from Dance Around The World Group Tours + A Weekend pass to the 2016 Australian Dance Festival valued at $160.
