Dreaming of performing on an international stage? The Barcelona Dance Award 2026 is calling dancers from across the globe to join one of Europe’s most prestigious cultural dance competitions, running from 2–6 April 2026 over Easter in stunning Barcelona, Spain.
For almost three decades, this event has united dancers, choreographers, teachers, and enthusiasts from around the world. With more than 39,000 dancers having participated since its inception, the festival is celebrated not just as a competition, but as a cultural exchange – where artistry, friendship, and international connection take centre stage.
What Makes This Event Special?
- World-Class Venues: Perform in professional theatres designed for dance, complete with spacious dressing rooms, warm-up areas, dance bars, professional lighting, sound systems, curtains, wings, cyclorama backdrops, and flat stages measuring 13m x 11m.
- A Global Stage: Previous editions have welcomed dance schools and groups from four continents and 15 countries, presenting over 200 choreographies across four days.
- Artistic Excellence: Performances are judged by a panel of international critics, experts, and representatives from leading dance companies. Categories honour the best groups, choreographers, teachers, and emerging talents.
