BRISBANE 'BOYLESQUE' STARS BRING THEIR CIRCUS INFUSED VARIETY SHOW TO THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

Winner Best Circus – 2010 Melbourne Fringe Festival
“A fun and refreshing show – a great way to end your night out or an even better way to get it started.” Independent Weekly (Adelaide)
A mischievous sharp shootin’ cabaret of burlesque with balls, highflying circus bandits and burly gender offenders
Briefs slams together a beef-caked and disorderly line up of Brisbane’s finest performers and mischief makers in a circus-infused variety show for the not-so-faint-hearted.
Fresh from their award-winning season at the Melbourne Fringe, this rag tag team of skilful buccaneers will present 10 shows in the Studio from January 4 as part of Summer at the House.
Stumbling onto the block with a fresh, raw and savvy style of circus and burlesque with balls and brains, their blend of the absurd, wicked humour, gob-smacking physicality, piss take and not-so-bashful displays of flesh have won them legions of fans.
Briefs bargains between absurdity, clever wit and the not- so-bashful in a ‘bare all’ evening of short acts boasting an impressive role call or performers including Mark Winmill, Natano Faanana, Davy Sampford, Mali de Groey, Rudi Mineur and Tess Beck strung together with a toast from your host and MC Fez Faanana.
Briefs began its humble and dysfunctional origins in Brisbane’s underbelly in late 2008 with a string of late night speakeasies and renegade circus cabarets.
It has since dragged itself on riotous outings including Brisbane and Woodford Folk festivals in 2009 and to sell-out audiences at the Adelaide Fringe and Judith Wright Centre earlier this year.
“These boys are seriously on top of their game. Not only for their physical strength, agility and circus skills, but because they could out-burlesque any female burlesque performer.” Scene Magazine
