Applications Open for AusDance NSW Dance Artists in Residence Program    Round 1 Closes March 6th

Ausdance NSW Dance Space Residency Program (DAIR – Dance Artists In Residence) invites independent dance artists, collectives, collaborations and companies of ANY dance genre to submit proposals for the 2016 DAIR program.

This program is a direct response to ongoing challenges of access to affordable and appropriate spaces for development for dance practice.  Activities may involve creative development, research, mentorships and rehearsal of work. Applicants are able to apply for a residency of a minimum 1-week and up to 3-weeks.
To be eligible, primary applicants should be NSW based and an Ausdance NSW member, however collaborators may be interstate or internationally based.
In 2016, the residencies are divided into two rounds, Round 1 closing 6 March and Round 2, closing 22 May. Applicants may apply twice per year (once per round), but may only be successful once per calendar year.
The Residency spaces are: Australian College of Physical Education (Sydney Olympic Park), ReadyMade Works (Ultimo), Art In Motion (Coomba Park) and Catapult (Newcastle). Please note that Art in Motion is located on the mid-north coast of NSW about 3.5 hours drive north of Sydney, and Catapult is in Newcastle approximately 1.5 hours north of Sydney.
DAIR Residency Recipients will receive:

  • Residency space
  • Prior to residency, a 15-min phone call with a team member of Ausdance NSW to assist with residency planning, implementation of artistic processes and format of studio showing
  • A studio visit from a team member of Ausdance NSW during the residency
  • Administrative support for studio showing from Ausdance NSW
  • Feedback session post residency with a team member of Ausdance NSW

ROUND ONE | Submissions due by Sunday 6 March 2016 | Recipients notified by Friday 18 March 2016
ROUND TWO| Submissions due by Sunday 22 May 2016 | Recipients notified by Friday 10 June 2016
