Wayfinder

Music by Grammy Nominated Australian Band Hiatus Kaiyote

Mona Foma and the Theatre Royal present Wayfinder by Dancenorth Australia for a limited season this February as part of Mona Foma 2024.

In this epic collaboration, Dancenorth joins forces with three-time Grammy nominated Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote, sound artist Byron J. Scullin and visual artist Hiromi Tango to create an immersive experience for audiences that will exhilarate the senses.

Expect a custom-made inflatable stage, colourful costumes, and over 70km of salvaged wool that has been wrangled into a towering, knitted set. Alongside the set, more than 100 luminous “pearls” designed in collaboration with the Japanese-born artist Hiromi Tango (Rainbow Dream Moon Rainbow, Dark Mofo 2022) float through the audience.

Coming directly from Sydney Festival and heading to the Perth and Adelaide festivals after its Hobart season, this mesmerising performance is not to be missed.
