Dance Extravaganza for Everyone!

Fundraising event for Nova Employment Performing Arts

Sunday 3rd July will see the second Don’t Dis Disabilities Dance Extravaganza which promotes inclusion and diversity in the performing arts sector by bringing together some of the industries best mentors and many dancers of all abilities. The day is will raise funds to for Nova Employment in their support of organisations providing dance and arts programs for people with disabilities.
Organised by the energetic Jessica Orcsik, the event began in 2015 specifically to help fund a group of dancers with various disabilities travel to the US in August last year representing Australia as part of the Special Olympics Dance Program in August. Last year’s Don’t Dis Disabilities raised in excess of $23,000 and assisted the group of nine to attend classes at Broadway Dance Center in New York and perform in Times Square, before travelling to LA to be a part of the opening ceremonies group dance routine to John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’.

Jessica Orcsik discovered there was so much enthusiasm for the event that she has decided to hold Don’t Dis Disabilities Dance Extravaganzaagain. All money raised will go towards the Nova Employment Arts Fund, which will assist various performers, studios, companies and groups the opportunity to partake in local, national, international, community and corporate initiatives across the performing arts sector. The show will see performances by some of Australia’s favourite artists including:
* JUSTICE CREW * PRINNIE STEVENS * REECE MASTIN * PHYLY CREW * THE DREAM DANCE COMPANY * REIGAN DERRY * ARIC & MASHA *
Choreographers Marko Panzic and Karina Lawrence will be the Dance Ambassadors on the day, and Marko also be choreographing the opening routine with Prinnie Stevens featuring the Special Olympics Dance group and other dancers from across Sydney. There will also be special appearances by Kelly Cartwright (paralympian and performer on Dancing With The Stars) and Aric and Masha (professional ballroom dancers from Dancing With The Stars).
Other choreographers involved include Stephen Tannos, Sarah Boulter, Blake John Wood, Lucy Doherty, Rob McLean, Freya List and many more. Plus there will be messages of support from many celebrities such as Bindi Irwin.
Get along to Chatswood, Sydney, on Sunday 3rd July and witness an amazing community of dance lovers doing what they love!
