Expressions of Interest Due May 25th
Expressions Dance Company (EDC) have announced they are piloting a new Youth Dance Ensemble as part of their commitment to support the next generation of Queensland’s dance artists.
Designed for ages 14 – 18, the EDC Youth Ensemble will focus on artistry, self-creation, refining contemporary techniques and choreography throughout a 8-week long program concluding with an open showing to family and friends.
Facilitated by ex-EDC dancer Riannon McLean, participants will be nurtured and empowered to learn in a safe and insightful environment. Throughout the program guest teachers and choreographers will include the EDC ensemble and respected dance industry professionals.
The program will focus on the versatility, unique talent and individualism of each dancer to build confidence, encourage commitment and embrace the experience of working together as an ensemble.
As the EDC Youth Ensemble will be in its initial pilot stage in 2018, participants will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of this exciting youth program. It is our vision to create a program that enriches and enchances existing skills and responds to the needs of young artists at this formative stage of their creative lives.

EOIs close on Friday 25 May 2018 midnight and all EOI outcomes released on Friday 1 June 2018.
If your EOI is successful, the Youth Ensemble Auditions will be held on Sunday 10 June 2018, 1:30pm.
The EDC Youth Ensemble will run for 8 weeks on the following dates.

Young contemporary dancers aged 14yrs – 18yrs

Wednesdays from 18 July – 5 September, 6:00pm – 8:30pm (Weekly)
Sundays from 19 August – 9 September, 1:30pm – 4:00pm (Weekly)

Fee:
$550.00 includes 2018 Youth Ensemble T-shirt (2 x Equity Scholarships available)
Equity Scholarships
As part of the 2018 pilot Youth Ensemble, we will be offering two Equity Scholarships. These scholarships will cover the course fees to the value of $550.00 for up to two participants. To be considered for the Equity Scholarship please fill out the all questions related to the scholarship in the EOI form below. We will require more information from you at a later stage to ensure you are eligible for this opportunity.
