Australasian Dance Collective

Company Artist

2019 Australian Dance Award nominee, Harrison Elliott and 2019 Performing Arts Awards winner Lilly King, are joining Australasian Dance Collective as company artists.

Elliott comes to ADC from Australian Dance Theatre where he was nominated for a 2019 Australian Dance Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer for his performance in ADT’s work South.

Elliott trained at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth from 2012 – 2013 and was a longtime member of STEPS Youth Dance Company.

He has worked with various Australian companies such as Buzz Dance Theatre, Barking Gecko Theatre Company, Force Majeure, House of Omelia and Australian Dance Theatre (ADT). He has toured nationally and internationally, performing throughout Europe, South America and North America.

Elliot said he was immediately drawn to the Collective’s supportive and collaborative ethos.

“I am excited to be part of a passionate and skillful team here at ADC and look forward to working in a collaborative space where I feel I can grow as an artist and person. It is always a joy relocating to a new city and I revel in the slow process of becoming familiar with a place that I am to call home.”

King began her studies at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2015 where she received a Bachelor in Dance.

As an independent artist, King has contributed to an array of creative projects, working with numerous choreographers including Brooke Leeder, Mitch Harvey, Rob Tinning, Sally Richardson, Scott Ewan, Scott Elsterman and Shona Erskine as well as performing in Stephanie Lake’s award- winning COLOSSUS (Perth Festival in 2020).

King was also awarded Best Newcomer (Dance) Award 2019 in the Performing Arts Awards WA (PAAWA).

King said ADC’s strong values and the unity of its members is so unique.

“The integrity within the Collectives’ communication, collaboration and emphasis on individualism is truly a wonder to behold and a privilege to be a part of. I am overjoyed with excitement as I look at the calibre of profound artists I get to work and collaborate with at ADC.”

ADC Artistic Director, Amy Hollingsworth, said she was thrilled to welcome both Elliott and King to the collective.

“I am absolutely delighted to be welcoming these two wonderful artists to the collective. I am always looking to continue building on the strength of the collective and Lilly and Harrison have such incredible gifts – they each have their own unique skills of excellent communication, wit, technical prowess and artistry. Both of them also bring a sharp intelligence and warm empathy to the studio, which are such valued contributions to the environment of the collective. We are all thrilled to welcome them to ADC.”

Harrison and Lilly’s debut performances for ADC will be in THREE at the Playhouse Theatre, QPAC from March 16-19.
