Monash University Performing Arts Centres (MPAC) has announced its 2026 season, promising world-class performances across music, dance, and cultural programming. From iconic festivals to bold new works, MPAC continues to establish itself as a hub for creativity, connection, and community engagement for audiences of all ages.
The 2026 season features both beloved MPAC favourites and exciting new offerings, including Family Fiesta, Big Jazz Day Out, and the inaugural Kindred People festival, a First Nations-led gathering curated by Gunditjmara man Tom Molyneux. Kindred People, running 1–5 September 2026, will celebrate Indigenous knowledge and culture while fostering cross-cultural exchange and storytelling.
Other highlights include Lighting the Dark (27 March) by Chris Dyke and the Dancenorth ensemble, exploring resilience through dance; Dream Swamp and Beneath Our Feet during Family Fiesta (1–4 July), merging puppetry, dance, and immersive theatre with science; Crumb’s Lyre (30 April) and Cave Song (14 June), experimental and boundary-pushing music performances; and Affinity Quartet in Concert (7 August), performing at the David Li Sound Gallery.
MPAC also continues to celebrate jazz through Big Jazz Day Out (21 March) and Live at The Count’s, delivering intimate weekly performances curated by Chelsea Wilson. The Monash Academy Orchestra will present three major orchestral concerts, showcasing some of Australia’s finest emerging musicians alongside acclaimed guest artists.
With its diverse slate of performances, immersive experiences, and cultural celebration, MPAC’s 2026 season promises something for everyone, from families and students to seasoned arts audiences.
