Regrettably, the organisers of this year’s Inspired Dance Youth Film Festival (IDYFF) have had to re-schedule the Gala film screenings and cancel the three-day film workshops due to the new Covid19 threats.

Originally planned to be held over three days from July 9-11, The Dance Film Experience aims to provide aspiring artists an immersion in dance filmmaking via an inspiring program of masterclasses, workshops and talks with the best in the business including Dein Perry, Stephen Tannos, Amy Campbell, Will Centurion and Sarah Boulter. The event will now be re-scheduled to later in the year.

The Live and Online Red-Carpet Gala Screening of finalists and presentation of Awards Winners for 2021 has also been rescheduled and will now take place on Sunday August 15. Tickets can be purchased to watch the film finalists live at The Entertainment Quarter’s Hoyts Cinema or streamed online.

The 2021 IDYFF  20 finalists come from Australia, Canada, Bulgaria, India, Germany, and the United States.

The Inspired Dance Film Festival for filmmakers aged 18yrs+ is still planned to run 5 – 7 November 2021.

The mission of Inspired Dance’s youth festival is to inspire and educate young dancemakers as they start their creative journey. Inspired Dance gives students aged 13-17 the opportunity to engage personally with some of Australia’s finest dance artists and to learn from their knowledge and experience.

Inspired Dance Youth Film Festival would like to thank their sponsors: VentureCrowd, SF3, BWP studios, Friends of the Australian Ballet, Unravel, Scott Ogier Designs, Dancelife, and Audition Listings Australia.
