Auditions for Children’s Show

Hi-5 is for today’s media-literate children between 2 to 5 years old. It’s a vibrant mix of stories, investigation, imagination and adventure, inviting children to actively share the excitement of exploring the world through movement, lots of catchy music and laughter.
In this positive and friendly environment, learning is playful, fun and always inclusive.
Hi-5 encourages children to develop their own potential and take a joyous and active part in life.
In every episode, the theme is explored through a range of segments, with each segment focusing on a particular area of learning: verbal, musical, visual, mathematical, physical and social. This structure is part of what makes Hi-5 innovative and unique: the range of segments acknowledges the fact that children are different, with different styles of learning. They can respond to the programme and explore ideas through whichever ‘mode’ suits them best.

Songs and music integrate all the different areas, with a focus of the show being the Song of the Week. This introduces the weekly theme and is played at the start and finish of each episode.The programme is based on extensive educational research and uncompromising production standards ensure that the show is child-centred from script to screen.
The creative team are: Jared Lim (Company Chairman), Julie Greene (Executive Producer) with the Musical Supervisor TBA.
About the Cast:
The five Hi-5 cast members are like the older brothers and sisters to the children at home. Vibrant, highly talented young singers and dancers, whose warmth and energy enables them to engage their audience as they showcase the material and themes relevant to young children and families of today. Learning becomes a delight, as children are genuinely encouraged to participate in the show’s interactive segments.

Wednesday 9th – Friday 11th November 2016 (includes callbacks)

Contract Dates:
Hi-5 Rehearsal Period (‘Boot Camp’) in Sydney 28th November – 24th December 2016
‘Hi-5 Cast’ Contract period 1st January 2017 (for min 3 years)
SUBMISSION PROCESS

Please email headshots, resumes and a short introductory video including a 1 minute song & dance and a 1 minute piece to camera aimed at a young audience (no longer than 3 minutes) to:
Applicants must be Sydney-based for the contractual period and aged between 18 – 22 years.
All submissions must be submitted by Monday 31 October 2016.
Hi-5 CAST ROLES
Auditionees must be physically fit, have the capacity to learn quickly and creatively. You must be a positive team player who is a people person and loves kids. You will be required to travel extensively. Expect long days and rewarding hard work.
