Prix de Lausanne

Villars-sur-Ollon from July 8 – 13, 2024

The Summer Intensive – European and International Preselection of the Prix de Lausanne will take place from 8 to 13 July 2024. The workshop will be held in Villars-sur-Ollon, at the initiative of the ArtKhOros Foundation, and will welcome young dancers from around the world for the first time.

In line with its mission to develop future dance talent, the Fondation en Faveur de l’Art Chorégraphique is organising its fifth Summer Intensive, which also works as a Preselection for the Prix de Lausanne 2025. After four editions exclusively open to European dancers, young talents from around the world will be able to participate in this fifth Summer Intensive.

After an initial video selection process, approximately sixty young talents will participate in a six-day program of dance classes and activities in Villars-sur-Ollon. Supervised and observed by a panel of renowned professionals from the dance world, up to 4 participants will be preselected for the 2025 Prix de Lausanne at the end of an intensive week.

Villars-sur-Ollon will pulsate to the rhythm of pointes for 6 days

The workshop will be spread across facilities kindly provided by the municipality of Ollon, as well as in the 1895 theater, a classified historical monument, of the iconic Villars Palace. In addition to the program reserved for workshop participants, events open to the public will be offered, such as classical and contemporary dance classes by registration, as well as a screening of the film “Le Prix”, directed by Alain Wirth and Nuria Manzur.

With this “mountain edition”, the Prix de Lausanne aims to pay tribute to its Swiss roots while offering an exceptional opportunity for young dancers from around the world to refine their skills in a professional, artistic, and aesthetic setting that is both stimulating and inspiring.

Municipal Councillor of Ollon, in charge of Tourism and Culture, Caroline Ganz-de Meyer,  This summer, the collaboration between the Prix de Lausanne and Villars-sur-Ollon celebrates dance, a symbol of life and freedom, bringing together artistic excellence and community support, enriching the local cultural scene and offering wonderful opportunities to young dancers.

Executive and Artistic Director Kathryn Bradney, Thanks to the collaboration of the municipality of Ollon and the generous support of Villars Loisirs et Tourisme SA, the Prix de Lausanne is delighted to welcome these young talents to a setting worthy of a postcard! We are grateful to Caroline and Laurent Colombo for their kind invitation and generosity. We also express our gratitude to our sponsors, notably the Fondation Inverni-Desarzens and Ernst Göhner Stiftung, as well as our anonymous donors for their unwavering trust. We also warmly thank the Villars Palace and our local partners. Their support, combined with the idyllic backdrop of the Vaud Alps, provides an exceptional environment, blending professionalism with a conducive space for artistic expression, ensuring a memorable Summer Intensive!
