Queensland Ballet Academy Gala

Don’t miss the rising stars of dance in this compelling showcase of outstanding talent by Queensland Ballet’s esteemed Academy.

Demonstrating technical finesse and exquisite artistry, the annual Queensland Ballet Academy Gala features professionally trained young dancers as they master performance and passion in a dazzling display of classical and contemporary dance.

Queensland Ballet’s Artistic Director, Li Cunxin AO said he is excited for audiences to witness the exceptional talent of these up-and-coming dancers.

“We are delighted to showcase the next generation of dancers, which we know our audiences will be absolutely captivated by.

“Audiences will enjoy a program of inspiring classical pieces and dynamic contemporary works by globally renowned choreographers,” Mr Li said.

The Academy’s Director, Christian Tátchev said he is proud of his student’s development in the Academy program and can’t wait to present their skills at the annual gala.

“It is inspiring watching the students develop artistic and technical skills, transforming from students into professionally trained young dancers.

“I look forward to celebrating their hard work, commitment and dedication at the Queensland Ballet Academy Gala,” Mr Tátchev said.

The Queensland Ballet Academy aims to prepare young dancers for a professional career in ballet or dance.

“Graduates of Queensland Ballet Academy have segued with grace into professional careers with ballet and dance companies both in Australia and internationally,” Mr Tátchev concluded.

Presented for the first time at Queensland Ballet’s exciting heritage home, the newly redeveloped Thomas Dixon Centre, this program – performed by dancers at the beginning of their bright careers, is certain to inspire and impress.

The Queensland Ballet Academy Gala will run from 12 to 14 August at the Talbot Theatre, Thomas Dixon Centre.
