NOSTALGIA – A SOIRÉE AT SUNDOWN
Venue: Magnums Hotel, Airlie Beach
Season: Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays at 7:00 PM
Duration: 1 hr 45 mins (incl. intermission)
Age: 18+

If you think you’ve seen a “variety” show before, think again. Nostalgia isn’t just a show — it’s a high-octane, no-holds-barred party through the decades, fuelled by world-class talent, sharp direction, and a cheeky streak that keeps you grinning all night.

From the moment you step inside Magnums Hotel’s transformed performance space, you’re hit with an electric buzz. The costumes are vibrant and eye-catching, setting the tone for a night that blends glitter, grit, and unforgettable live entertainment.

What unfolds is an exhilarating ride through the soundtracks and styles of multiple generations — from Motown to disco, from the glittering 70s to neon 80s pop, rebellious 90s anthems, and early 2000s club bangers. This is a show that knows exactly how to work its audience, delivering a seamless mix of hilarious comedy, slick dance numbers, silky live vocals, jaw-dropping cirque-style adagio and aerial work, and a healthy dose of cabaret sass. It’s sexy yet always classy, with a confident wink to the grown-up crowd.

The cast is stacked with exceptional, versatile performers who move between genres, characters, and decades with ease. Adagio duo Emma Macpherson & Mick Stone deliver gasp-worthy lifts and spins that push the limits of strength and trust. Hosts Sam Ellis and T’la Morrow keep the energy sky-high, blending razor-sharp wit with circus artistry that has the audience laughing one minute and holding their breath the next. Emmalene Tinson and Paige Massey ignite the stage in ‘Maneater’ and several more – all attitude, precision, and fire — while Jackson Jobe turns up the heat for the ladies with a provocative solo and a male revue sequence alongside Mick Stone that gets the room buzzing. Tiff Davies’ vocals wrap everything in velvet, her tone both smooth and commanding, adding a touch of glamour to every scene she’s in.

What makes Nostalgia truly stand out is the attention to detail in each act. Every number is meticulously crafted with a clear purpose — to thrill, surprise, and draw the audience deeper into the party. Costumes sparkle under the lights, choreography is sharp and dynamic, and transitions are so tight you barely have time to catch your breath before the next wow-moment hits.

The audience reaction says it all. Multiple spontaneous standing ovations erupted throughout the night, with people dancing in their seats, cheering, and shouting their appreciation. By the end of the show, the entire room felt like one giant party bus you never wanted to get off — a joyous, shared experience where strangers became dance-floor allies.

Behind the magic are Angela Brown and Emmalene Tinson, the powerhouse duo behind Sundown Productions. Angela brings her background as a singer, dancer, and actor, combined with years of performance both in Australia and overseas, to create shows with heart, polish, and pure entertainment value. Emmalene, a professional dancer and choreographer with a deep background in performance and creative direction, has toured nationally and internationally, delivering high-calibre stage experiences with precision and flair. Together, they’ve fused their talents and vision to create Nostalgia — an electrifying production that’s bold, immersive, and impossible to forget.

Between acts, ecstatic audience members shared their thoughts. “Epic.” “Sensational.” “The best show I’ve ever seen.” Many promised to bring friends back before the limited season wraps up in early September — because seeing Nostalgia once is simply not enough.

If you’re in Airlie Beach and looking for a night that hits every note, every beat, every era, this is your ticket. Nostalgia is more than entertainment — it’s a love letter to live performance and the timeless magic of music, dance, and human connection.

🎟 Tickets from $69. Limited season ends early September.
