Victorian State Ballet Starts Beauty and the Beast Tour in Sydney

Young Dancers Invited to Audition for Junior Cast Roles

Following nationwide sell-out hit seasons, Victorian State Ballet is touring its acclaimed Beauty & the Beast ballet to kick off its 2020 season. It opens in Sydney, returning to the stage at The Concourse, Chatswood, on March 7 & 8 for two shows only. VSB will ten tour to regional New Zealand, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria.

The full length classical ballet production of the traditional fairy-tale story, honours the spirit of this magical work. Inspiring, and entertaining it is a memorable experience for the whole family. One of the world’s most loved fairy tale classics is retold through a superb production featuring classical ballet skill and choreography which honour the spirit of this magical work – an inspiring, impacting, entertaining and memorable experience for the whole family!

Victorian State Ballet will also be holding Youth Auditions for these performances, seeking local dancers, aged 10 years to 17 years with strong basic ballet technique, to join the cast. Auditions will he held back-stage at The Concourse in Chatswood, on Saturday, February 22, at 9am to 4pm. See Facebook link for these audition details.

The production features internationally recognised artists in the leading roles ⏤ Elisa Jacques as Belle and Tynan Wood as the Beast ⏤ in a rich display of outstanding skill plus leading classical ballet artists from across Australia and abroad.

The choreography is rich with vibrant colour, virtue, sensibility, grace, intrigue and outstanding skill. VSB’s Beauty & the Beast endeavours to immerse the audience right in amidst the fairy tale classic in a profound experience that is exhilarating, impacting and visually inspiring.

Don’t miss out on seeing all your favourite characters plus exhilarating solos and pas de deuxs, the very moving transformation, grand waltz and ultimate happily ever after final scene. Beauty & the Beast  is classical ballet at its finest!
