Counterpointe

The Australian Ballet

Book the perfect winter escape to see the extremes of ballet collide with Counterpointe this July in Adelaide.

It’s a beautiful place where winters are spent tucked up by the fire as you sip world-renowned wine or getting lost in a labyrinth of laneways lined with galleries and restaurants.

Counterpointe is the perfect excuse for a winter getaway – but book quickly, the show opens next week.

8 – 13 July | Her Majesty’s Theatre

Performed by a multi-generational cast, SAVAGE is Daniel Riley’s first major, full-length work for the company. A collection of ideas and eras shaped into an urgent piece of dance theatre, SAVAGE looks at personal perceptions of fundamental belief systems and our trust in believing the truths and lies that have captured our hearts and imaginations.

Working with leading director Kate Champion, artist Dean Cross (Worimi), lighting designer Matthew Adey and composer James Howard (Jaadwa), SAVAGE will have its world premiere on Kaurna Country before touring to Ngunnawal/Ngambri Country later in the year.

21 – 25 September, Dunstan Playhouse – Adelaide
29 – 30 September, Canberra Theatre Centre – Canberra

Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony will take you on a journey from Tragedy to Triumph. This darkly brooding symphony begins with low, rolling strings and is bursting with dramatic peaks, tender melodies and palpable pain. Don’t miss hearing this incredible work performed by the full power of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Series 6 this August.
