Fun, family musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory [Read our review here] now playing to delighted Sydney audiences, will head to Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre from 9th August. Tickets go on sale on Friday 15th March >> Book now! 

So now, the search has started for four Melbourne boys to play the lead role of Charlie Bucket, with auditions to be held in April.

MELBOURNE AUDITION DATES

15th & 16th April 2019

Rehearsals to commence June 2019 in MELBOURNE with performances commencing in August 2019.

Dates are subject to change at the Producer’s discretion

AUDITION BRIEF: CHARLIE BUCKET

Charlie Bucket lives with his mother and his four grandparents in a little wooden house near a great town, and is the final child to find a Golden Ticket. For the auditions, producers are looking for Melbourne-based boys of around 10 years of age, an excellent singer with a naturally innocent voice, and exhibiting wonderful innocence and vulnerability.

▶︎ All applicants for the role of Charlie must be aged 10 years or over as of 1 May 2019

▶︎ All applicants must reside within 1 hr travel time from Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne

▶︎ VIC BASED SCHOOL ENROLMENT ONLY

▶︎ Boy, playing age 10; any ethnicity.

▶︎ Sweet, smart, hopeful and loving. A boy with wonderful innocence and vulnerability.

▶︎ Honest actor and an excellent singer with a naturally innocent voice.

▶︎ Vocal – Unbroken/Unchanged

AUDITION PREPARATION

Applicants will receive specific character/audition material, at the time of receiving an audition allocation. Successful applicants will receive appointment times no earlier than 7 days prior to auditions.

Casting requirements for these roles is very specific.
