INSPIRED Dance Film Fest Australia 2020

All The Winners!

Congratulations to the winners of the first ever INSPIRED Dance Film Fest Australia, including the special event category for Schools.

The Gala screening evening and awards presentation was held live with a red carpet event on Sunday 8 November at Hoyts Cinemas at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter, as well as being able to be viewed live-streamed on the day. The semi-finalists were available to watch online earlier.

As the IDFFA organisers stated: “The 2020 gala screenings  were a hit! With our backs against the wall, and COVID throwing all sorts of  unpredictable curveballs, we managed to launch our very first season of IDFFA and IDFFA Schools (inside a cinema). It was touch and go for a while there, but we are positively relieved, and absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Buoyed by the feedback and response, and extremely grateful for all the support we’ve had along the way, we are looking forward to what’s to come in 2021.”

“There are so many artists out there doing such good work. It is an honour to have IDFFA here in the City of Sydney.” – Angela Vithoulkas, City of Sydney Councillor
“It was great to see everyone’s creativity on the big screen, and we hope that everyone enters again, and the event gets bigger and bigger.”  – Kelley Abbey  IDFFA Ambassador
“It was amazing to be here and see everyone have their moment on screen. I will definitely be back next year.” – Georgie Fabien, IDFFA Best Student Film Finalist
“It was such a joy to see so many different works from across the world. I have been accepted into 4 dance film festivals, but it is so exciting to receive my first award” – Lucy Doherty, IDFFA Best Australian Dance Film Award Winner
