DUSTY THE MUSICAL

For a limited time only and 4 years after the hit musical, Tamsin Carroll and Deni Hines reunite to celebrate Dusty Springfield’s musical achievements with a 2 hour spectacular concert highlighting the hits songs of Dusty and the impact they had around the world during the era of Black & White Soul.
In authentic 60’s costumes and set design Deni and Tamsin will perform duets and solo’s throughout the show backed by a 7 piece band.
“Dusty: the Original Pop Diva, The Musical”, was an outstanding success nationwide in 2006. Grossing over $20M at the box office and playing to close on 400,000 people across 253 shows. Tamsin Carroll took out “Best Female Actor in a Musical” at the 2006 Helpmann Awards and Deni received a nomination for “Best Supporting Actress”, in total the musical was nominated for 6 awards.
Having just returned from the West End, UK for a short break after performing in the hit production of “Oliver”, Tamsin jumped at the chance to get together with Deni and recapture the magic of the musical. “I can’t wait to do the tour and get back into some Dusty, Deni and I had such a great time and already the fun has begun in rehearsals, its going to be fantastic”, says Tamsin.
Deni has just returned from charity work in Kenya and Papua New Guinea and has commenced work on a new album. “I’ve been bugging the producers of the musical to bring the production back on stage, so when Tamsin was up for the idea, I said, let’s go girlfriend and have some fun”, says Deni.

Multi Award winning theatrical artist Tamsin Carroll has performed in over 26 productions including Oliver, The Rocky Horror Show, Company, Dusty, Broadway Showstoppers, Grease, Shout, Hair, Evita plus more and is the recipient of no less than 5 marquee awards including Helpmann’s, Mo’s and Greenroom Awards. Tamsin has also appeared in 11 Television productions including All Saints and Heartbreak High, two feature films Ms Understanding and Holy Smoke the latter directed by the legendary Jane Campion. Tamsin’s really looking forward to performing in Australia again.
Deni Hines is without doubt considered one of Australia’s foremost entertainers. From radio, chart and hit singles (Aint No Sunshine, That Word Love, It’s Alright, I’m Not In Love, It’s Not Over, I Like The Way, Water For Chocolate, Pull Up To The Bumper) and albums, to lead roles in musicals (Dusty, Jesus Christ Superstar, Big River); television and film (Mao’s Last Dancer), Deni has grown up in front of audiences from an enthusiastic young performer with The Rockmelons to a mature, sophisticated all round entertainer spanning 2 decades amassing a diverse array of musical styles from pop, blues, soul, jazz, reggae and all in the between. She has co-written a song Welcome for Beyonce Knowles for a French release, as well as two songs for the famous Taxi soundtrack. Toured with Earth, Wind & Fire, Chaka Khan and The Lighthouse Family plus recorded an ARIA nominated Jazz Duet’s album The Other Woman with James Morrison with near sell out theatre shows around the country. Deni is the ambassador for Oasis Africa Australia, a charity that builds schools, clothes, feeds and provides medical for the under privileged in Kibera, Kenya where 1.2 million people live in a slum.
