FIRST TO GOIf you are following SYTYCD this season you would have seen last night that Will & Ilona were the first to go home. After Choreography Consultant for the show Leanne Cherny (Who is also a judge at DanceLife Unite) gave the Top 20 a great talk about their ‘Dance For You Life’ I personally thought the solos were quite weak aside from Jess who was beautiful and Nick. This is literally their last chance to stay in the game and I was surprised that some of the solos either lacked any real dancing or they just threw a few steps together. At the end of the day we know it’s a reality television show. Is it the worst dancer that goes home?… not usually, it’s the least interesting dancing. When the judges go back stage to make their decision they sit with the producers and nut it out. Things they consider, dancing ability, likability (keep viewers watching), background (story), potential (dancing and personality), style they specialise in etc. Dance is a great platform to grow the Australian dance industry and build the profile of Australian dancers . We are definitely looking forward to seeing where this season heads and how the contestants grow.
