The McDonald College’s Renowned International Summer School

Enrol Now for 2017

Following the huge success of previous years, The McDonald College International Summer School returns for its 11th year, bringing together distinguished industry professionals from around the world for this sought-after program. This exciting summer school explores classical ballet and contemporary dance complemented by a range of other dance styles and body conditioning.
ISS founder, former dancer with the Royal New Zealand Ballet and industry practitioner of over 30 years, Jacqui Dumont, attributes the summer school’s success to its international faculty and tailored class sizes.
“There are many aspects which make the International Summer School so successful. We have a wonderful international faculty of teachers, eight studios for classes and limited class sizes, so all students get the very best opportunity. It is a very happy summer school that creates an atmosphere of non-competitiveness and allows the students to work and gain experience from other teachers,” said Dumont.
Presented by The McDonald College, the program provides an outstanding experience in various genres of dance including classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, character, Pilates, body conditioning and exercise, partnering, repertoire, stagecraft and mime, and boy’s coaching. During their time at ISS students are also encouraged to build their confidence and poise.
“We should always be mindful of how we influence our students’ lives whilst instilling knowledge, guidance and confidence in them. Not only is it about reaching their best potential but it’s also about students feeling good about themselves,” said Jacqui Dumont.
International Summer School 2017 teaching faculty includes:
Fiona Tonkin – Principal Coach of The Australian Ballet
Henning Albrechtsen – Freelance Guest Teacher from Denmark and faculty member of The Royal Danish Ballet School
