Melbourne City Ballet presents Shakespeare’s tale of Love, Fairies and Mischief – fit for the whole family!

30 Date Regional Tour July – September

Melbourne City Ballet will spread the enchantment far and wide when they tour A Midsummer Night’s Dream to an incredible 30 regional venues throughout July, August and September.

This follows on from their hugely successful tour of Romeo and Juliet in 2016, and audiences in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Northern Territory will once again be treated to a Shakespearean classic.

Set to the inspiring music of Mendelssohn, the chaotic story of four young lovers, a vengeful king and meddling fairies will prove falling in love can make fools of everyone. Full of flittering fairies, mischievous magic, and misadventures this charming ballet will be a delightful journey from the royal court into a magical realm.

An ambitious tour, Melbourne City Ballet Artistic Director Michael Pappalardo is confident the production will be received well, “we have a real commitment to providing first-class performances to as many regional and remote areas of Australia as possible,” he says.

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream is such a fantastic ballet to tour as it appeals to a wide range of people. Action, comedy, drama, and of course a splash of fairy magic combine to make this the perfect ballet for people to bring their families along to see” he continues.

With a huge 30 venues on the tour, visit Melbourne City Ballet’s website to find the full schedule and book tickets.
