From Fed Square to Queen Victoria Market, laneways to historic venues, the Melbourne Fringe Festival will transform the city into a creative playground this 30 September – 19 October 2025. With more than 500 events across 130+ venues, the Festival brings bold, immersive and unforgettable art to Melbourne.
Dance, Movement & Immersive Highlights
  Power Move – Fed Square
Dance takes centre stage with a kinetic dancefloor that challenges the city to power the event off-grid. From eight hours of Non-Stop-Go-Go dancing to rotating DJs and participatory events, Power Move invites everyone to move.
 Kummargii Yulendj Barring Gadhaba // Projections of a Current Future
A walking and cycling tour across Melbourne guided by Boon Wurrung Elder Professor N’arwee’t Dr Carolyn Briggs AM, reawakening ancestral memory beneath the city streets with powerful projections by Amina Briggs.
 VOICES – Arts Centre Melbourne forecourt
An interactive installation where audiences conduct a 50-voice philharmonic choir, triggering light and movement in a collaborative soundscape.
 Decadence: 10 Years of YUMMY – Meat Market
The beloved cabaret phenomenon returns with drag, circus, and burlesque in a high-octane celebration of a decade of smash-hit performance.
 Runway in the Rainforest – SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium
Fashion meets nature as designer Aron Katona and collaborators present designs inspired by tropical wonders, set against the backdrop of the aquarium.
Festival Atmosphere
 At Trades Hall, over 110 shows unfold in cupboards, carparks and pop-up theatres, with Club Fringe bringing legendary late-night parties.
  Queen Victoria Market comes alive with Fringe Flavours Night Market, combining circus, cabaret and comedy with food and music.
The Royal Botanic Gardens host Speed Dating with Cacti by Canada’s Mammalian Diving Reflex, a playful, unexpected exploration of people and plants.
With more than 2800 independent artists spanning theatre, music, circus, cabaret, dance, and visual art, the Melbourne Fringe Festival continues to be Victoria’s most inclusive and experimental arts festival — championing First Nations voices, d/Deaf and Disabled artists, queer storytellers, and international innovators.
