Romeo & Juliet

West Australian Ballet

Be part of the grandeur, seduction and tragedy

West Australian Ballet is so excited to share this re-imagining of Romeo & Juliet with you ahead of the Australian premiere in August. As soon as the costumes arrived, they knew they had to show them off. So, earlier this month they spent the day with Oscar Valdés, Polly Hilton, Ludovico Di Ubaldo, Mayume Noguromi, and Jurgen Rahimi, who were completely captivating as they brought their characters to life.

Romeo & Juliet
30 August – 14 September
Live at His Majesty’s Theatre
with West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra

Choreographed by Andrea Schermoly for the Royal New Zealand Ballet, with exquisite sets and costumes by three-time Academy Award-winning designer James Acheson, this production is not to be missed.

Romeo and Juliet, an iconic ballet, has the power to take the audience on an intensely affecting journey, and that it does in this newly commissioned Royal New Zealand Ballet production.
 Dance Australia

Schermoly’s choreography paired with Prokofiev’s dramatic and emotive score are two outstanding reasons to see this ballet, though it is the lavish set and costume design from Academy Award winner James Acheson that are utterly breathtaking.
