The dance floor is calling! Award-winning Drew Anthony Creative will bring the smash-hit musical Saturday Night Fever to Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre from 8–25 January 2026, following a critically acclaimed season in Perth.
Marking Drew Anthony’s highly anticipated return to Melbourne stages after nearly two decades, this spectacular reimagining of the ’70s classic invites audiences to relive the magic, rhythm, and raw emotion that made Saturday Night Fever a global sensation.
Set in Brooklyn, the story follows Tony Manero, a nineteen-year-old paint store clerk who becomes king of the dance floor every weekend. When he teams up with the captivating Stephanie for a local disco competition, their journey unfolds into a soulful exploration of ambition, identity, and escape.
This dazzling production bursts with breathtaking choreography by Jamie and Suzi Rolton, stunning costumes, and striking high-definition digital sets that transport audiences straight into the heart of 1970s New York. Featuring the Bee Gees’ legendary hits — Stayin’ Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever, Tragedy, and More Than a Woman — it’s a spectacular celebration of music, movement, and the joy of dance.
After winning multiple BroadwayWorld Perth Awards in 2024, including Best Direction, Best Scenic Design, and Best Performer, Drew Anthony’s Saturday Night Fever is poised to be Melbourne’s must-see musical event of the summer.
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather bring this show right now than Melbourne,” says Anthony. “Saturday Night Fever uses music and dance to explore who we are and what we aspire to be — it’s an irresistible celebration of life, connection, and rhythm.”
