Get ready, Sydney — Shirley Valentine arrives next week at Theatre Royal Sydney, with the brilliant Natalie Bassingthwaighte taking centre stage in Willy Russell’s beloved one-woman comedy.

Playing 22–26 October only, this limited one-week engagement has already earned rave reviews in Melbourne and Adelaide, where audiences were charmed by Natalie’s heartfelt and hilarious portrayal of one of theatre’s most inspiring women.

A Story of Courage, Humour and Reinvention

At the heart of Shirley Valentine is the story of a middle-aged Liverpool housewife who feels trapped in routine and loneliness. As she chats to her kitchen wall, she wonders what happened to the adventurous girl she once was.

When her best friend invites her on a spontaneous trip to Greece, Shirley takes a leap of faith that will change her life forever. Filled with humour, warmth and courage, Shirley Valentine reminds us that it’s never too late to rediscover ourselves.
