Bangarra Dance Theatre

Songlines

This year Bangarra Dance Theatre starts a new chapter under the Artistic Direction of Frances Rings with a company of new and familiar faces.

Amberlilly Gordon has joined the company as the recipient of our 2023 Russell Page Professional Development Scholarship. She is a proud Wiradjuri and Ngemba woman from Dubbo, NSW who spent 2022 with our Youth Programs team, traveling across Australia delivering our flagship Rekindling program.

They also welcome Lucy May, a proud Danggalaba, Kulumbirigin and Tiwi woman, as the newest company dancer. Born on her Country in Darwin, NT, Lucy grew up in Newcastle, NSW and has recently returned from studying and performing in Germany.

Finally, Kassidy Waters returns to the ensemble. She is a descendant of the Wanaruah People in the Hunter Valley, NSW and initially joined the company in 2019. Kassidy returns after spending the last two years as an artistic collaborator and performer across NSW.

See their dancers on stages across Australia in our upcoming national tour of Yuldea.
