Hidden Sydney: The Glittering Mile

Stroll down memory lane in Kings Cross for a sinfully good time

Come in if you dare!

An all star ensemble cast will re-live the heyday of Sydney’s notorious and naughty Kings Cross in Hidden Sydney: The Glittering Mile.
The star studded ensemble cast, as glittering as the Cross itself, includes: Ray Badran, Gerard Carroll, Lauren Clair, Gary Clementson, Paul Dowson, Virginia Gay, Ben Gerrard, Thomas Gundry Greenfield, Christa Hughes, Fiona Jopp, Brenden Lovett, Rob Mills and Aaron Robuck.
Hidden Sydney is an immersive, exhilarating and witty cabaret experience set over four floors of the infamous ‘The Nevada’, the former Sydney brothel.

“Every night was like News Year Eve … fun and laughs, tits and tinsel” – Monique Kelly, member of Les Girls from 1973 to 1997

This talented ensemble will play characters that range from barmen, homeless poets and drug dealers to performers at the Chevron Silver Spade and the showgirls from Les Girls.
During the show, quick-witted bouncers, madams of the night, drag queens, crooks, entertainers and eccentrics alike relive the world of the Cross during the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Immerse yourself in the stories of Bea Miles, Abe Saffron, Roie the Witch, Standover Jim and the iconic Les Girls.  Rub shoulders with the crims and crooks of the day, finishing up with last drinks at the Chevron Silver Spade.
“Abe Saffron was a nice man.  With crims, all you have to be is a lady, you behave like an absolute lady” – Lorrae Desmond MBE, Entertainer, Actress
Proudly supported by City of Sydney, Hidden Sydney is part of the City’s Art & About program.  Art & About Sydney is an ongoing year-round program of events – a celebration of art in unconventional spaces. The City is committed to creating a year-round program of art including major projects, intimate exchanges and thought-provoking exhibitions in unusual spaces throughout the city.
