Due to overwhelming demand, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: The Neil Diamond Musical has officially extended its Australian premiere season, with two additional weeks added through to Sunday 27 September 2026. Producers Paul Dainty and TEG Dainty, alongside Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio, have confirmed a fresh release of tickets from Thursday, 11 December.
Making its Australian debut exclusively in Melbourne, the smash-hit Broadway musical will play at the Princess Theatre from August 2026, bringing the extraordinary life and music of Neil Diamond to the stage in a production already hailed as a must-see international sensation.
Leading the cast is acclaimed Broadway star Will Swenson, reprising the role he originated on Broadway in 2022. Widely praised for his powerful portrayal, Swenson brings his award-winning performance to Australian audiences for the very first time.
“Close your eyes and you’d swear that Diamond himself is on stage performing his string of hits,” wrote Forbes, while The Boston Globe declared Swenson’s performance “nearly blows the roof off.”
Created in close collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE charts the remarkable rise of a kid from Brooklyn to one of the most influential singer-songwriters in music history. With over 120 million albums sold, Diamond’s catalogue includes timeless anthems such as Sweet Caroline, Cracklin’ Rosie and Forever in Blue Jeans. His legacy is cemented with inductions into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, alongside a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award.
The production follows in the theatrical lineage of Jersey Boys and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, offering an exhilarating musical memoir driven by the songs that defined a generation. Directed by Tony Award® winner Michael Mayer, choreographed by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett, and written by four-time Academy Award® nominee Anthony McCarten, the creative team behind A BEAUTIFUL NOISE represents the very best of Broadway craftsmanship.
Australia holds a special place in Neil Diamond’s story, with the artist touring the country seven times across nearly five decades. His 1972 live album Hot August Night became a cultural phenomenon, spending 29 weeks at number one and earning its place as one of Australia’s longest-charting albums of all time — a connection that gives this Melbourne premiere particular resonance.
With its extended season, world-class creative team and an unforgettable score, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: The Neil Diamond Musical is set to be one of the defining musical theatre events of 2026.
