ADAM BLANCH GETS ON THE COUCH

Adam Blanch was born in the Hunter Valley and trained with Karen Thomas and Marie Walton Mahon, before entering The Australian Ballet School. He toured to Paris in 2001 as a student at the School, performing at Danses de Mai in works by Natalie Weir and Mark Annear. Adam then joined The Queensland Ballet under the direction of Francois Klaus and was promoted to soloist in 2005. He was invited to join Sydney Dance Company and making his debut at the 2006 Shanghai International Festival in performances of Graeme Murphy’s Grand. He has since toured throughout Australia and to the United States in 2007. Sydney Dance Company Repertoire Rafael Bonachela’s 360o, Stephen Petronio’s Underland, Meryl Tankard’s INUK2; Graeme Murphy’s Underland, Grand, Berlin and Ever After Ever (appearing in highlights from Ellipse, Air and other invisible forces, Tivoli), and the premiere of Short Stories). Other Credits: William Forsythe’s Approximate Sonata, John Neumeier’s Vaslav, Stephan Thoss’ Black Swan pas de deux from Swan Lake, Natalie Weir’s When Angels Weep, The Last Song, Wuthering Heights and in One Note Rag from Paul Boyd’s Twist of Broadway.
