Melbourne Ballet Company bring BEING & TIME to Sydney for World Premiere featuring guest artist Mara Galeazzi!

MARCH 11 & 12 | The Concourse

PLUS! … WIN TICKETS!!

Being & Time is a new, triple-bill contemporary ballet that marks the 10th anniversary of the Melbourne Ballet Company. In a rare interstate performance, the Sydney show will feature internationally acclaimed dancers Mara Galeazzi (The Royal Ballet Principal Artist) and Joseph Phillips (formerly with American Ballet Theatre). Company Director Simon Hoy has choreographed Being & Time along with internationally acclaimed dance makers Tim Podesta (South African Ballet Theatre, Projection Dance) and Lucas Jervies (Australian Ballet, Scapino Ballet, Sydney Dance Company). The ballet delves into the belief that philosophical thinking begins with and reflects its human subjects, in their acting, feeling, and as recognisable living human individuals. This existential understanding of being is grounded in time.

Galeazzi is performing in Tim Podesta’s Architecture of Loss, his work for the Triple Bill. This is a unique opportunity to see Galeazzi perform!

Founded in 2007 MBC is a not-for-profit organisation which has now grown to become one of Australia’s most-loved dance companies. The artistic policy of MBC is to present new work, modern ballet performed by highly trained classical dancers. Since its launch MBC has presented over 35 original works.

After its Sydney performances, Being & Time will move onto The Hawthorn Arts Centre – click here for information about the Melbourne season.
