Come From Away

Theatre Royal Sydney

The Tony and Olivier Award-winning hit musical COME FROM AWAY is garnering rave reviews and rapturous standing ovations for its triumphant final season in Melbourne ahead of the show’s highly-anticipated return to Sydney.

The celebrated musical will play at the intimate and revitalised Theatre Royal Sydney from 5 November 2022 for a limited season.

COME FROM AWAY opened to critical acclaim at the Capitol Theatre in June 2021 but the pandemic disrupted the season and led to much of the season being cancelled. All the while word-of-mouth about the ingenious and uplifting production continued to spread with audiences coming to experience the show time and again. Among its multitude of awards, it was voted Ticketmaster’s “Ticket of the Year” by Australian audiences.

COME FROM AWAY shares the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Gander, Canada during the wake of 9/11, and the small Newfoundland community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives.

Awarded the Tony® for Best Direction of a Musical, Christopher Ashley’s production guides audiences through a colourful and spirited cast of characters, brought to life by the Olivier Award-winning writing team Irene Sankoff and David Hein.

The outstanding hand-picked ensemble includes Kyle Brown, Zoe Gertz, Manon Gunderson-Briggs, Douglas Hansell, Kat Harrison, Joe Kosky, Phillip Lowe, Joseph Naim, Sarah Nairne, Natalie O’Donnell, Emma Powell, David Silvestri, together with Kaya Byrne, Jeremy Carver-James, Noni McCallum, Michael Lee Porter, Alana Tranter and Jasmine Vaughns.

“Come From Away far exceeds good and heads into greatness” – Subculture media

“Come From Away is not just an Important Musical for Our Times, it’s also a whole lot of rollicking good fun.” – Time Out

“The show reaches out to the audience with a volt of feel-good energy. It sends you home with your heart singing.” – Limelight

“A captivating 100 minutes of music, smart lyrics and heartfelt characters.  DO NOT MISS THIS!” – Broadway World
