HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 FOR CHATSWOODChatswood Musical Society is set to present the NSW premiere of the world musical sensation, High School Musical 2… live on stage!
Summer turns up the heat on our favourite characters and ups the ante on the romance – and the rivalry!
All the gang are working at a country club founded by Ryan and Sharpay’s family! And with the club’s annual talent show right around the corner, Sharpay’s competitive instincts are sizzling. She dumps Ryan as her singing partner and starts wooing Troy to join her on stage instead. Gabriella is less than thrilled that Troy has agreed to sing with Sharpay. How could he do that to her? Things are heating up on the lawns of high society. Will Troy and Gabriella realize that they are meant to be? Or is it already too late for them to sing one last song together?
Featuring hit numbers ‘What time is it?’, ‘You are the music in me’, ‘I don’t dance’, ‘Bet on it’ – and many more – this is irresistible family entertainment!
Directed by Michael Saddington with musical direction by Therese Doyle and choreography by Joanne Gilmour, High School Musical 2 features Tim Neville (a real-life singing, dancing basketballer who travels twice a week from the Gold Coast for rehearsals!) as Troy Bolton, Angelique Bosman as Gabriella Montez, Ashleigh Rubenach as Sharpay Evans, Henry Moss as Ryan Evans, Justin Gan as Jack Scott, Sophie Carrington as Kelsi Nielsen, Gavin Brightwell as Chad Danforth.
Plus Rose Iannuzzelli, Stephen Pagett, Jane Atherton, Brigid Kennedy, Kat King, Claire Janes, Victor Aquilera, Edwin Estanislao, Luigi Vescio, Andrew Wang, Isaac Bradley, Nathan Sandercock, Will Jenkins, Jodie Packard, Samantha Rivett, Gemma Pilley, Rebecca Player, Francesca Jobberns, Tania Pickering, Lily Robertson, Maani Akuira, Coral Mercer-Jones, Renee Winter, Amy Johnstone, Lily Price-Reeve and Olivia Helmore!
Chatswood Musical Society (CMS) is one of Sydney’s longest running musical theatre companies. Founded in 1951, this established musical theatre company has offered a stepping stone to professional careers for many up and coming stars – most recently for Australian Idol, TOP 4 contestant, Nathan Brake, and Elisa Colla, now starring in Wicked.
High School Musical 2 plays at the Zenith Theatre from May 5-15. Bookings: 1300 66 22 12.
