High Heeled Musical Struts to Sydney in April 2017

On Sale from Dec 5

Hot on the heels of its spectacular Australian premiere in Melbourne last month, multi-award winning, big-hearted new musical Kinky Boots, will strut into the Capitol Theatre, Sydney from April 2017.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on December 5 through Ticketmaster or kinkybootsthemusical.com.au.
Winner of every major international Best Musical award, Kinky Boots features Tony and Grammy-winning songs by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by Broadway royalty Harvey Fierstein and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell.

“A HOOT IN BOOTS! This is a scintillating staging: well cast, well drilled, tightly performed and as close to technically flawless as you could hope to find. The chameleonic Callum Francis is beyond superlatives as Lola” –  The Australian

Australian Producer Michael Cassel said: “Australian audiences have embraced this show so enthusiastically I am delighted, together with my partners Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig, to announce a Sydney season so that even more people can experience the joy and fun of Kinky Boots and the talents of this phenomenal cast. We have theatregoers of all ages and from all walks of life laughing, crying and cheering every night – I just can’t wait for Sydneysiders to experience that Kinky Boots high.”
Callum Francis and Toby Francis lead the company as principal characters Lola and Charlie – the fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos and the young man he inspires with an outrageous idea that could change both their destinies.
Sydney-based singer, writer and musical theatre performer Toby Francis was most recently a member of the internationally renowned Australian music ensemble The Ten Tenors.
British star Callum Francis makes his Australian debut directly from London, where he wowed audiences as the understudy Lola on the West End stage and performed in UK productions of The Lion King, Ghost and Miss Saigon.
Rounding out the cast are a mix of accomplished musical theatre performers and exciting fresh faces, including:  Sophie Wright (Lauren),  Joe Kosky (Don),  Teagan Wouters (Nicola) and  Nathan Carter (George), along with  Blake Appelqvist,  James Delisco Beeks, comedy veteran  Glenn Butcher, Hilary Cole, Jessica Condon, Richard Crandle, Denise Devlin, Euan Doidge, Daniel Downing, Bronte Florian, Linden Furnell, Ryan Gonzalez, Samm Hagen, Anthony Harkin, Jenni Little, Liam Peel, Emma Powell, Matthew Predny, Eric Rasmussen, Mark Simpson, Mark Stefanoff and  Mitchell Woodcock.
Kinky Boots is the hilarious and heart-warming new musical inspired by a true story and based on the movie starring Joel Edgerton about a young man’s struggle to save the family shoe factory with an outrageous idea thanks to a fashionable new friend. Kinky Boots opened on Broadway in April 2013 scooping six Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score Written for the Theatre, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. The blockbuster hit opened in London’s West End in September last year, winning three Olivier Awards including Best New Musical.
