Australia is ready to celebrate the queens again: the international smash-hit SIX the Musical will return to Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in 2026. Following triumphs on the West End, Broadway, and stages across the globe, the pop-concert musical will play Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre from July 2026, Sydney’s Theatre Royal from October 2026, and QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre in Brisbane from January 2027.
Six reimagines the lives of King Henry VIII’s six wives — Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr — transforming history into a high-energy pop-concert. With sharp, witty lyrics, infectious choreography, and empowering storytelling, the show celebrates resilience, sisterhood, and self-expression, appealing to theatre enthusiasts and new audiences alike.
The show is created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, with direction by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage and choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille. The Australian cast and creatives will be announced soon. Six has won 38 major international awards, including two Tony Awards® and a Grammy® nomination, and has attracted more than 3.5 million fans worldwide.
In addition to the live stage performances, Australian audiences can see SIX the Musical Live! in cinemas from 8 January 2026, filmed at London’s Vaudeville Theatre with the original West End cast. This limited cinema release will be the first showing outside the UK and Ireland.
With its blend of history, humour, and contemporary pop, SIX the Musical continues to inspire a devoted fan community — the ‘Queendom’ — and remains one of the most celebrated and relevant musicals of our time.
