Queensland Dance School of Excellence student, Bianca Watts, has been engaged as an understudy for Queensland Ballet’s up-coming production of Swan Lake.
Bianca was recently invited by Robyn Klaus, Queensland Ballet’s Artistic Associate, to participate in classes with the Company’s Professional Year and subsequently was offered this valuable professional experience.
Opportunities like this highlight the benefits available to select students as a result of the unique affiliation between QDSE and Queensland Ballet. The two organisations, along with Kelvin Grove State College, where QDSE’s full-time dance students attend face-to-face academic classes, have been in partnership for almost three decades.
Bianca will rehearse with the Company and be available in the event of a Company dancer being unable to perform. She will experience working with Queensland Ballet for the mid-August Brisbane season and may also participate in the regional tour to Toowoomba and the Gold Coast.
