The Bodyguard Premiere Season Extended in Sydney

New Tickets on sale May 15 | Must End July 2

Due to popular demand, the Sydney season of the award-winning hit musical THE BODYGUARD has been to 2nd July and final seats will go on sale on Monday 15 May.

With people on their feet dancing at the end of every performance and four and five star reviews online, audiences are loving the iconic story and their favourite hits like I’m Every Woman, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, How Will I Know and I Will Always Love You.

“Aside from Paulini’s divine vocals and stage presence, perhaps the biggest stars of the show are the song and dance production numbers. Each one is a highlight in itself. In fact, there were times I had forgotten I was watching a musical and thought I was actually watching Paulini present a Whitney Houston show with the best supporting dance routines imaginable! They were brilliantly choreographed and excitedly performed to a very appreciate audience. Get to it Sydney! You won’t be disappointed!” – DanceLife Australia

On behalf of his co-producers Michael Harrison and David Ian, John Frost said, “We’re overwhelmed by the audience reaction, with an electric atmosphere and the audience dancing at the end of the show every night. We’re thrilled to have discovered a new musical theatre star in Paulini – audiences love her and the critical response to her performance has been incredible. Sydney, if you haven’t bought a ticket to THE BODYGUARD yet, get in quick. We must close on 2 July to head to Brisbane.”

THE BODYGUARD began its Australian tour at the Sydney Lyric Theatre on 21 May, and following the Sydney season it transfers to the Lyric Theatre, Brisbane from 19 July, then the Regent Theatre, Melbourne from 24 August.

Leading THE BODYGUARD cast is the fabulous Paulini as Rachel Marron, with Kip Gamblin as bodyguard Frank Farmer, Prinnie Stevens as Nicki Marron and Emily Williams as the Alternate Rachel Marron. Andrew Hazzard plays Sy Spector, Patrick Williams is Bill Devaney, Brendan Irving plays the Stalker, Damien Bermingham is Tony, and Glaston Toft plays Ray Court.

Based on the Warner Bros hit movie which starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the film was written by the acclaimed, Oscar-nominated screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan and the musical features a book by Oscar winner Alexander Dinelaris.

A ‘BRILLIANT!’ (The Times), breathtakingly romantic thriller, THE BODYGUARD features a whole host of irresistible classics including Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, Run to You, I Have Nothing, Greatest Love Of All, Million Dollar Bill, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and one of the greatest hit songs of all time – I Will Always Love You.
