Tony Award-winning Broadway legend Lillias White and Aussie TV heartthrob Hugh Sheridan are both set to make special guest appearances at this year’s Sydney World AIDS Day Concert.
Ms White, currently appearing in Fame in Sydney, has appeared in many hit Broadway shows including Dreamgirls, Chicago and Cats. Mr Sheridan is a star of hit TV series Packed To The Rafters and is an accomplished cabaret performer.
Helpman Award-winning performer Mitchell Butel (Avenue Q, Dusty, The Venetian Twins) will also perform alongside 20 other entertainers and a 40 piece orchestra as they celebrate the music of legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim.
Playing for one night only on Monday 22 November in the stunning Verbruggen Hall at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the all-star lineup includes:

  • Lillias White
  • Hugh Sheridan
  • Mitchell Butel
  • David Harris (Little Women, Miss Saigon)
  • Geraldine Turner (Chicago, A Little Night Music, Into The Woods)
  • Lucy Durack (Wicked)
  • Trevor Ashley (Hairspray, I’m Every Woman)
  • Shaun and Adam Rennie (Light the Night)
  • Phil Scott (The Wharf Review)
  • Jodie Gillies
  • Queenie Van de Zandt
  • Laura Mulcahy
  • Avigail Herman
  • Tyran Parke
  • Marika Aubrey
  • James Millar
  • Marney McQueen
  • Simon Brook McLachlan
  • James Lee
  • Matt Young
  • Anita Plateris-Fraser

All performers and musicians are doing the show for free with all proceeds helping ACON (formerly AIDS Council of NSW) provide essential health promotion services for people with HIV.
ACON Events Coordinator David Wilkins says the music of Stephen Sondheim is a natural choice for Sydney’s World AIDS Day concert. “Stephen Sondheim is celebrating his 80th birthday this year and it seems only fitting that we should mark the occasion with an all-star tribute to this phenomenal artist,” he says. “Sondheim’s wonderful music being performed by so many great entertainers and all backed by a 40 piece live orchestra will produce a truly memorable show for people of all ages.”
