Seymour Centre and Shaun Parker & Company present…
HAPPY AS LARRY

Award winning Australian director and choreographer Shaun Parker will return to Sydney when his renowned production HAPPY AS LARRY takes place at the Seymour Centre from 10th to 14th September 2013 as part of a national tour spanning five states and 16 cities.
This exhilarating dance hit combines a free-flowing mix of ballet, breakdance, parkour, roller-skating, acrobatics and highly physical contemporary dance. Set to an arresting electro / acoustic score by musical duo Nick Wales and Bree van Reyk, HAPPY AS LARRY is an uplifting exploration of the human condition and the elusive nature of happiness.
The cast of characters is developed from the Enneagram, a psychological system that maps nine personality types: the Perfectionist, the Giver, the Performer, the Tragic Romantic, the Observer, the Devil’s Advocate, the Optimist, the Boss; and the Mediator.
Fusing gritty realism with jaw-dropping performances, HAPPY AS LARRY stars Timothy Ohl, Josh Mu, Libby Montilla, Marnie Palomares, Jana Castillo, Sophia Ndaba, Joshua Thomson, Lewis Rankin, Toby Derrick and Craig Bary.
Originally commissioned by the Australian Major Festivals Initiative for the 2010 Sydney Festival, Brisbane Festival, New Zealand International Arts Festival and Perth International Arts Festival, HAPPY AS LARRY has since toured 11 cities across France and the UK, including a sold out season on London’s West End.
HAPPY AS LARRY will take place for one final week of performances at the Seymour Centre before returning overseas in 2014 for an extended international tour to Europe, the Middle East and North America.
